Temba Shelter admits clients who have chronic and terminal conditions, thirty (30) at a time. Temba Carers conduct Home Visits and are able to refer sick people to the Temba Shelter, Hospital and Clinics. About 100 people who need help are identified monthly, and those who have no one to look after are admitted at the Shelter.
Temba is working with Men who have started a Circle of Support who, together with the Management and the Board, have decided to show that Caring is the responsibility of each one of us, and on the 1st December 2009, will give love, care and support to the Clients of Temba who are both infected and affected. This will be done together with the Department of Correctional Services, and the fifty (50) members of the Temba Garden Pogramme who will display the vegetables they have harvested, and will donate to the Temba Shelter.
